Here's why families move to Nixa
My wife and I just recently moved to the area. One of the things that was the most important to us was finding a great place to raise and educate our 4 year old son. We have always been impressed with the Nixa Public School District and are some of the best schools in the state of Missouri. The district consists of four elementary schools, two intermediate schools, one junior high, one high school, and the state’s very first magnet school.
Nixa Public Schools have been Accredited with Distinction for 12 years in a row by the state of Missouri.
For the 9th year in a row, Nixa has finished first in overall MAP/End of Course (Missouri standardized tests) scores in the Central Ozarks Conference schools in all content areas.
For three years in a row, Nixa High School has been named a Missouri State High School Activities Association “5-Star School.” Only 11 other high schools in the state have achieved this honor.
Nixa Public Schools posted a composite ACT score of 23.3, highest among public Central Ozark Conference schools.
Nixa Public Schools have an attendance rate of more than 96 percent.
Nixa Public Schools’ dropout rate one of the lowest in the state at 1.9 percent.
Espy Elementary, Century Elementary, and Nixa High School have all been named “Gold Star” schools by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. This is the highest honor a school can receive in Missouri.
Espy Elementary and Nixa High School have been named a Blue Ribbon School by the US Department of Education, the highest honor a school can receive in the nation.
John Thomas School of Discovery was the first fully STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the Arts, and mathematics) magnet school in the state of Missouri.
